i'm boring

happy veteran's day! and happiness to all of you who have the day off tomorrow--i'm jealous!
for the record--i have completed 3 (yep, that's right THREE) home improvement projects today! not that y'all care, but it's kind of nice to be able to fix something and not have to pay for it to be done ;) AND its over 70 degrees here today--WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hump day

ssdd. my back hurts. i had to get new brakes today. but i got to have mexican for dinner. somehow, its all better.

is there a movie that you absolutely love? I have 2. steel magnolias and sixteen candles have lines that can make me laugh when things are at their worst. something about a favorite movie makes me happy. and watching them(when its cold and there's a fire in the fireplace) is even better!

last christmas...

when do you start listening to holiday music? i'm not quite ready, but i can feel it coming on. the cold weather is starting to really come along with a bang and i'm getting excited about a cold christmas(last year's was in florida). but how soon is too soon? i don't want to ruin the season by extending it for TOO long, but i also want to enjoy it as much as i can...whaddya think? is the holiday season commercialized for too long each year?

autumn leaves start to fall

so, today I had the opportunity to really notice all the beautiful leaves that have changed in the past few weeks. how could anyone really not experience autumn? college football, cooler weather, fireplaces and warm blankets. in essence, i have a new appreciation for this season. i missed it last year, only exposed on a few select weekends to the brutal cold that affects the northern states. i'm SO GLAD i'm here now. i wouldn't trade anything for this time of the year. even for laying out in the sun every weekend :)

GO TIGERZ!

mizzou is on their way to becoming 8-1 this season. if you live in columbia or are a tiger fan, this is a big deal. we are in the top 10 for the first time since i was 4 (and no, i am not 6 now). why oh why couldn't the cubs have this kind of luck????

really, its FINALLY here?

remember when you were a kid and certain days would NEVER arrive? that was today for me. although i have to return to hell on monday, i have 2 whole days to not be there, and boy am i happy. it is slated to be a beautiful fall weekend, and hopefully i will complete my home improvement projects in time to enjoy it. (yes, you read the previous sentence correctly--i will be completing the sanding and painting of a ceiling this weekend). wish me luck :P

day 1

can you believe it's november? somehow that means the holidays are near, which means more shopping...yay! part of me can't wait, the other part is dreading getting everything together. gifts for NINE nieces & nephews? BUT, then there's the decorating :) nevermind....bring on the season!

yeah, i know its been awhile

but i really don't have anything to say.

i'm headed home in 17 days--that's exciting!!
i can't wait to see everyone and actually be home for awhile. i'll be there 'til at least september; planning on deciding whether or not to stay put/keep the house or keep traveling and keep the house/rent it or just sell it and be completely free. I am very conflicted about all of this, but i'm pretty sure i'll figure it all out after being back for awhile. the best part? i won't miss anymore floats this summer :) that makes me very happy.

and also, this place is FRICKIN COLD!! if its one thing i miss about fl(and there are more believe you me), its the weather.
on the other hand, a nice thing about this place is the drive thru sbux on the way to work, which i didn't have before. at least i don't have to get out into the cold to get my a.m. rush.

what do you do?

...when someone you cared for very much reappears after you've been trying to get over them & tells you they miss you? i don't know what to do. i've left the ball in his court. i can tell you that it will take some extensive wooing to make anything happen. i guess i'll just have to wait and see. wish me luck...

2 more days

i can't believe this 13 weeks is almost over! it started off so horribly, i thought it would NEVER end. i cried everyday for the first month(i think), i couldn't wait to leave. now i'm sad. i'm really going to miss SOME of the people and things about this place. It has been over six months since i left home--i was SO afraid to do this! Now i can't believe how quickly it has flown by.

and not to sound all sappy and s*&t, but i've actually learned so much about myself in the time i've been away, and i'm really proud of myself. maybe i could've stayed home and gone to therapy, but i'm stubborn. the only way i learn is by taking the most difficult route--i mean, really, if life were easy, would we really appreciate it? (in the sense we hadn't experienced any sort of difficulty--does that make sense? i have a cold and i think its congesting my brain).

btw, happy st. pat's--don't forget to wear your green!

i'm POOPED!

...and i have begun counting down the days until i leave here. i don't know why, but i've been tossed from place to place for the past week and a half, doing cases i normally don't do, & working with people i normally don't. i woke up this morning hoping it was at LEAST thursday, but alas. i guess the saying "the squeakiest wheel gets the most grease" is true. guess i should bitch more. (btw, only 12 working days left).

...oh, and the title of this post? i f-ing HATE that saying(that and "my dogs are barking") but it still makes me laugh.

long time, no blog

whoo hoo! i finally got back on blogger! (i swear i've been trying to log on with the same password the whole time & it hasn't worked!!!). anyway--how is everyone? its still sunny & warm in south fl, what'd you expect? i entered a new decade 2 weeks ago--i still don't think its real, but that's good--at least i don't feel older than i really am :) momo & i went on a cruise--i had a lot of fun(i think she did, too). It was SO NICE to be on vacation. only 3 more weeks until the next one(vacation, that is)! i'm almost finished here, then on to south carolina. i'm getting excited about everything--a week off, seeing my family, a new place--this is the fun part about my job. the not fun part? i will miss the people i work with already. even after 3 months. and i HATE the physical job of moving, even though i don't have that much stuff to move. i have been de-cluttering my current 500 square feet for about 2 weeks in hopes of less stuff to transport. its actually working! for once I don't have piles of things to sort through all the time!!!!! hopefully the next post will be sooner rather than later--take care.

btw, i went to see john mayer last night....i forgot my camera which i will regret for awhile. point being it's always a pleasure to hear such a talented musician. i'm beginning to really agree with my friends that watching his facial expressions leaves a lot to be desired(as does the thought of he & jessica simpson--what do they find to discuss?), but i still love him.

i heart warm weather

so i've finished half of my time in southern FL. what a nice way to spend my winter, i might add. sorry to all of you who've been enduring the ice/snow/cold, but i'm really not missing it. it only this week dropped down into the 60s. brrrr!(actually, i thought it felt great, but i'm one of the few). next stop--south carolina. i'm hoping to settle there for awhile. i'll be an hour from myrtle beach & 2 from savannah. i'm looking forward to exploring the area. in the meantime, i'll have to settle for the VACATION! its only 12 days away...i can't wait.
